Dangerous Depression

Depression is a condition that can take many forms, from the short lived feelings of sadness that most of us suffer in response to disappointments of everyday life, right up to severe depressive disorders which require treatment. Depression has become a common disorder. It is estimated that more women than men suffer from depression. Depression is considered as a very dangerous disorder because 50% of depressed people even go to the extent of committing suicide.

For people with a history of depression or bipolar disorder, the risk of relapse looms like a cloud over their lives, threatening to separate them from their work, relationships, even their children. Stress, sleep deprivation, hormonal shifts, and stopping treatment are among the most common relapse triggers.

Heat – Danger for Older Adults

As the temperatures rise, older adults become more vulnerable to heat-related health issues because their bodies don’t cool down as quickly as younger people. Sometimes, older people may not feel hot when the temperature is dangerously high and are also less likely to feel thirsty, which means their bodies have lost too much water.

High Temperature Environment is one of the cause for the deaths of the Older Adults.

Good Unsaturated Fats

Most of us believe that saturated fats are good for health while unsaturated fats are bad,  but unsaturated fats are good for your health, saturated fats are really not good for you. These saturated fats are present in meat and dairy products and also in sweet goods such as pastries.

Exercises to Flatten Stomach – the Fallacy

There are countless ab rollers, ab balls, and suspended chairs which rock and gyrate, all claiming to be the one solution that will flatten your stomach.  And yet, our waistlines grow steady every year.  So where does the problem lie?

The problem begins with people seeking the wrong solution for their bulging bellies.  An over weight stomach isn’t caused by un toned stomach muscles, so there is little surprise that exercising them doesn’t gain the desired effect.

Our every increasing waistlines owe their size to the layer of fat which covers our abdominal muscles.  Strengthening the muscles themselves won’t remove the fat.  Hence, laboring over exercises to flatten your stomach, while well meaning, won’t address the actual cause.
